As members of C.C.L, our main interest is chinchillas. However, all animals deserve a mention, which is why we created this page - purely for other animals. Here you can find links to animal welfare sites, photos and interesting newspaper articles. If you have anything to submit, please contact Roger. The articles below appeared in Plymouth's Evening Herald recently. We at C.C.L are appalled that people causing animal cruelty receive such small punishments. The R.S.P.C.A are forced to abide by 1911 laws, laws that desperately need updating to give animals a better chance. You can do your bit to help by visiting The Sun website's Stamp Out Cruelty page HERE, and printing out the petition. The Sun are working with the R.S.P.C.A to bring attention to their plight and have C.C.L's full support.

Louise & Beryl

Liz Arnold-Smith sent this lovely photo to us. Louise the puppy dog and Beryl the chinchilla sharing a tentative kiss...awww!! If you have any photos of your chinchillas interacting with other pets (obviously, introduce them carefully) we would love to see them.

.....and here are some more photos from Liz! Thanks Liz.

"Here are a few more pics of my children!  I love the ones with the dustbath - its almost like they are saying to each other -'Okay now, it's my turn!!!' and also the one with Beryl and the pups' bed - she's saying 'well they've taken over my bath so I'll take over their bed!'

Needless to say I have now given Beryl her very own dust bath which she has in one of her cages.

I am so thrilled they are getting on - I honestly cannot believe the difference in Beryl since I lost my darling Presley - she has blossomed and come out of her shell incredibly!  I guess they say that out of something bad something good comes???  And she 'calls' the pups now by either banging/rattling her cage or jumping around to make as much noise as possible and this carries on until they come to her!  Also, if Beryl is at her door to come out and I have not noticed, Louise will alert me by softly barking and running to the cage door!!  Too sweet for words".
