A CHINCHILLA is a South America animal of the family of 'RODENTIA'. A nocturnal rock hopper inhabiting the High Andes, it's fur is one of most dense of any other animal (60 hairs per follicle) in the world. Disappearing rapidly in it's natural environment in great numbers. However, the chinchilla is getting more popular in captivity because of it's sensitivity, shyness and intelligence. These factors accompanied by the chinchilla's cleanliness and relatively uncomplicated lifestyle mean it has become a popular pet.
ABOUT, 'THE
CHINCHILLA CHAT LINE' (C.C.L.). In February 1998, Founder/Senior Advisor, Roger
Whear, inaugurated the 'Chinchilla Chat Line' (C.C.L.). Which exists to promote
and expand knowledge of the chinchilla hence creating a more responsible,
caring and euphoric life for them. Observational advice is provided free to
all who request it and as far as we know, C.C.L. is the first organisation
of it's kind in the world. We always recommend any physical ailments/problems
should immediately be treated by a professional veterinary practitioner (contact
details available on our site).
Finally 'Chinchilla Chat Line' is a non-commercial organisation providing
us an unbiased platform for all things 'CHINCHILLA'.
CHINCHILLA CHAT LINE REACHES IT’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Going from strength to strength we have reached our 10th Anniversary, one of the only non-profit animal related organisations to have achieved this. Not only has our profile been elevated amongst some celebrities (John Travolta, Eric Roberts, Eliza Simons, Lord Bath, Beryl Cook to name but a few) but also to large organisations such as National Geographic, International Organization for Animal Protection, About Animals, Animal People, Blue Cross etc. We have also spread our net worldwide and regularly receive enquiries from countries such as Japan, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Australia, Russia, Croatia … which has been a very exciting progress.
We would also like to thank everyone who has enabled CCL to have achieved what we have in our 10 years and look forward to another 10 prosperous years!

2008 PLYMOUTH HALF MARATHON

It is hard to believe that the 2008 Plymouth Half Marathon is almost upon us! As always this will take place on the last Sunday of May Bank Holiday weekend (this year on Sunday 25th). C.C.L. is excited to announce that it has runners not only in the Half Marathon but the Fun Run too. Sponsorship forms can be obtained by contacting Liz Arnold-Smith.
URGENT
Due to very unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances two of our six runners have had to pull out of the half marathon. If you would like to represent C.C.L. please do let us know urgently and we’d be delighted to furnish you will further information. All entry fees have been met so there would be no financial implications applicable.
