February 2010
On Wednesday the 10th February our vice chairman John Duckworth accompanied by promotions officer John Seamons went along to Chaplin’s to present them with their accessibility award for their contribution to helping the disabled get about a bit more. This was a choice made by the majority of those who voted as the premises that had done the most to help and on travelling round in my wheelchair feel that the award was justified as I found it very easy.
John Duckworth presented the award to Vanessa from Chaplin’s and she was very pleased to receive it and said that it would go to the office for her mother to see then would be displayed. The shield is presented every year and the winners keep it for twelve months but they are also given a smaller shield which they keep they will also be presented with a certificate as soon as they are printed.
If you know of a firm or shop that has gone that little bit extra to help the disabled why not nominate them and maybe next year they will be the winners. Keep an eye on our web site for the nomination forms.
