Disability Roadshow 2009

On June the 3rd to the 7th a team from Scoot-a-long consisting of John Duckworth, Peter Baldacchino, Simon Parrott, Geoff West and John Seamons set about exploring the disability road show which was on from the 4th to 6th inclusive.

We made some very good friends up there and we stayed in Scoot-a-long's caravan at the Tavern Inn at Kemble and were well looked after by the licensee and his wife.

We spent all day at the road show and were looking for anything that would help us help the disabled and there were a lot of things there, we are hoping to get the firms we met onto a links page so anyone who reads our web site can get to speak to these firms and possibly get some help.

We met Bill from Fieldmaster and he is making us a trailer for the scooters so we can carry spare batteries and we will be going to the factory in Wolverhampton at the end of July to take the scooter so measurements can be made. This firm make good wheelchairs as you can see in the photo, Peter is at home on one of the adaptable wheelchair/scooters.

This road show is on every year and well worth a visit if you are disabled and it is all very accessible with refreshment available and it runs from 10.00am till about six every day.

If you would like to know more please email us or hopefully we will have a links page up and running shortly and you will be able to contact any of the companies direct.
